Getting to and from Inverness Airport
Inverness is situated on the outskirts of the city, in the midst of an agricultural landscape, in Dalcross. From the city centre, the airport is found about 14 kilometres (9 miles) away, initially taking the A96 road signs towards Aberdeen.
Getting to and from the airport is achieved through a limited number of modes of transport. Car hire is a popular option for visitors to the region. Avis and Hertz car rental desks are situated within easy reach of the luggage belts. Pre-booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
There is a good bus service operating every thirty minutes to and from Inverness (Queensgate and Inverness Retail Park), Ardesier and the airport as well as an hourly one to and from Nairn. A single fare from Inverness airport to the city centre is under £3.00. The bus stop is located just outside of the terminal entrance. Alternatively, you can take advantage of rail links at the nearest railway station in the city via a bus or taxi ride from the airport. Catching a train at Inverness Railway Station can lead you to a variety of Highland stations, Edinburgh, Glasgow and a number of destinations over the England/Scotland borders (including London Euston) . It is situated at Station Square close to the Eastgate Shopping Centre in the city centre.
If driving to the airport, there is no need to concern yourself with the worry of not being able to find a parking space. Inverness Airport has 650 parking spots. There are three short term car parks on the site and long term parking off site nearby.
Taxis are available from outside of the terminal. They will charge between £10 and £15.
